As an Inside Sales Representative for Graybar, you will be part of our Supply Chain Distribution Team and be assigned to our Teterboro, NJ location.
Responsibilities for Inside Sales Representative – Supply Chain Distribution
In this ground floor opportunity, you will research, prospect and develop new opportunities and maintain relationships with current customers for the purpose of driving sales for Graybar’s wholesale electrical and com/data solutions and products.
Train and develop to become a subject matter expert on Graybar products, services and solutions.
Enjoys calling and consulting daily with customers.
Effectively listen and understand the customers’ needs so as to analyze and present solutions as to how Graybar can assist in achieving their goals operationally, environmentally and financially.
Partner and collaborate with internal team members such as customer service reps, quotes, warehouse operations and finance.
Proactively handle customer issues/challenges for resolution and report potential claims.
Maintain an open line of communication with management by informing of deals, local competition and market conditions.
Carry out sales and merchandise programs as directed and recommend new items for inventory.
Assist with maintaining customer records, files and reports of business transactions.
Participate in continuous training sessions and lunch & learns to develop and increase industry knowledge.
Attend trade shows, sales meetings and networking events.
Other duties assigned as needed.
6 months to 1 year of sales, customer service, account management, retail sales or telemarketing experience. Applicable internships a plus.
High school diploma/GED required. Technical trade school or college degree preferred. Supply Chain, Business Administration, Construction Management, Real-Estate, Professional Selling, Marketing/Sales, Communication, MIS, IT Networking, Interior Design degrees preferred.
Knowledge of telecom, distribution, construction, electrical, com/data, IT security, government, military, manufacturing, industrial, logistics, interior design, big box/home improvement stores or energy fields a plus.
A results motivated individual who has the drive and patience to learn and develop into a successful sales professional.
Team player who ultimately enjoys and thrives in a fast paced wholesale distribution and construction environment.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (verbal & written) a must.
Highly proficient computer skills. SAP or Salesforce knowledge a plus.
