Graybar Financial Trainee in Seattle, Washington

Develop a working knowledge and understanding of the principles and procedures of financial management, learn Company policies and departmental routines and objectives through on-the-job training and interaction with local financial and branch management.

This job is currently located in the Seattle, WA area and will be moving to Renton, WA in the near future.

In this role you will:

  • Adhere to scheduled training program assigned; attend training sessions and courses as assigned; adhere to current status on computerized training system.

  • Complete training on best practices; apply learning to daily routine including collection schedule, key metrics, and overall management of the accounts receivable (AR) portfolio.

  • Handle phone calls, form letters, and other routine correspondence with customers.

  • Secure necessary job information including lien notifications; understand lien and bond laws as they apply to the local market.

  • Assist with credit file review and maintenance, including pulling credit reports and credit references.

  • Assist in credit evaluations and credit approvals as delegated.

  • Assist in collection efforts by phone, in person, or through correspondence as directed.

  • Cross train with other departments to learn about other functional duties and responsibilities; become familiar with branch and district structure and management teams.

    What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelors' degree in a Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field of study preferred

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Knowledge of the wholesale distribution industry

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Understanding of continuous improvement techniques and practices

  • Oral and written communication skills

  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization and in a team-based environment

  • Ability to work effectively with external customers, suppliers, and vendors if required in assigned specialty area

  • Analytical, conceptual, and problem solving skills

  • Planning, organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced working environment

  • Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and supervise others

  • Ability to be self-motivated, business oriented, flexible, and accountable

  • Ability to relocate, depending on assigned specialty area
