Graybar Vice President Sales - Industrial Automation in Clayton, Missouri

As Vice President – Sales for Industrial Automation , you will provide sales direction and leadership; be accountable for short- and long-term growth/profitability; direct, administer, and coordinate activities; make recommendations regarding the development and implementation of goals relating to sales, marketing, operations, employees, and financial performance.

In this role you will:

  • Implement Corporate strategies and initiatives within Industrial Automation

  • Analyze the actual financial performance of the Industrial Automation line of business against budget with the objective of exceeding established targets

  • Establish an effective business strategy for Industrial Automation

  • Evaluate industry and business trends for potential impact on Industrial Automation; identify key opportunities and threats within the marketplace

  • Implement effective recruiting, staffing, employee development, performance management, and succession planning programs

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, suppliers, and engineers so that the Company is properly positioned within the marketplace

  • Ensure Industrial Automation maintains a consistent focus on delivering high quality customer service

What you bring to the table:

  • 11+ years of experience required

  • Four-year degree required; advanced degree preferred

  • Knowledge of the Industrial Automation distribution industry

  • Strong knowledge of financial analysis methods and continuous improvement techniques and practices

  • Leadership and supervisory skills

  • Analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills; able to make quality fact-based decisions using the appropriate information

  • Planning and organizational skills

  • Written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to think strategically, synthesize the most complex business/financial data, and develop innovative solutions

  • Ability to leverage Corporate, district, branch, and Industrial Automation line of business resources effectively and leverage Company capabilities to win profitable business

  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to develop and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and engineers and interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures

  • Able to work effectively as a member of a team, lead complex project teams, and facilitate progressive change

  • Travel as required

Pay Details:

The expected rate of pay for this position is $178,000 - $250,000 annually depending on experience. This position is also bonus eligible with a target of 50%, based on specific and relevant business metrics. Additionally, the role is eligible for our profit-sharing plan and stock purchase plan.
