Purpose Under the general supervision of the Sales Manager, prospect and manage consultative sales opportunities with customers focused on the Construction, Industrial or Residential market; c ommunicate product specifications, identify alternative products, input orders, and resolve questions on billing, credit, and claims.
Assume primary account management responsibility for assigned grouping of customers with strong emphasis on sales growth and account penetration.
o Account package may be exclusive to one industry segment or may be any combination of the Commercial Construction, Residential, or Industrial markets.
Create demand for the Company’s products and solutions for the assigned customer market, primarily interacting with prospects and customers by telephone or other electronic means of communication.
Communicate with customers through verbal and written methods to address product selection, requests for quotes, product specifications, order status, and invoicing.
Interact with the Sales team, electrical contractors, architects, and engineers, regarding product to be used on the assigned projects.
Responsible for establishing and deepening relationships with target customers for the purpose of creating specifications and growing the business.
Monitor territory for any concerns, competitor issues, or other factors affecting the business, and make recommendations for improvements/changes.
Work in collaboration with, and provide support and guidance to co-workers with the mutual goal of meeting or exceeding targeted sales and gross margin goals.
Demonstrate initiative in on-going professional development and keep abreast of industry trends and changes.

Requirements Minimum Job Requirements High school diploma or GED required
Preferred Job Requirements One year of prior sales/service experience preferred: Industry knowledge or B2B experienceFour-year degree or equivalent experience preferred

Demonstrated understanding of business principles and concepts including sales, marketing, and pricing
Knowledge of the Company’s products and services
Solid problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Ability to learn business and apply to specific customer needs
Ability to influence customer behavior and demonstrate highly assertive communication
Self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of team to achieve assigned goals
Working Conditions Office environment. Some travel required.
